Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Deterioration caused by age and corrosion can lead to leaks and possibly failure in manholes and other wastewater structures. Geelong Waterproofing is proud to offer a complete rehabilitation procedure and liner system for the renewal of wastewater structures. Our repair system restores structural integrity and provides a multi-layered lining system designed to rehabilitate wet wells, manholes, and wastewater structures. We effectively address numerous issues associated with the deterioration and failure of sewer structures, including infiltration, fatigue, and corrosion.

Preparation:
Existing structures are properly prepared to remove soils and eroded surfaces. Water blasting provides a sound, reliable surface to receive the coating, remedial repairs are carried out to address water and root ingress and remove or replace any corroded fixtures.

Resurfacing layer:
Next a resurfacing coat is applied. A high build repair mortar for the patching and resurfacing of deteriorated concrete has been specifically formulated to produce superior bond, low shrinkage, chemical durability and high strength. It is a one component mortar and can be either sprayed or trowel applied at a thickness of 10 mm to 50 mm. It’s high performance characteristics are enhanced by waterproofing and protection technology filling voids, eroded areas, bugholes, and missing mortar joints, restoring the surface to its original emplacement.

Corrosion barrier:
Polyurea coating A Polyurea coating system is spray applied for the protection of the manhole.

Tufflon is a pure polyurea and is especially good at controlling abrasion and corrosion making it the perfect lining system for protecting and sealing concrete surfaces. A seamless and continuous thick lining is rapidly spray applied with a vice-like grip and is touch dry within seconds. Unlike paint or epoxy coatings, Tufflon remains flexible and elastic for many years and will move and conform to subtle changes in the substrate without cracking or flaking. Many pump stations, manholes, sewage treatment plants and water reservoirs have been lined with Tufflon-P90 because of its extreme chemical resistance to Sulphuric and other Acids coupled with its aggressive adhesion Tufflon is perfect for this type of application. In addition Tufflon systems make excellent waterproofing membranes and are certified for use with potable water.

Finally and most importantly Tufflon systems have a long and successful history of use in commerce and industry throughout Australia.
